Our Treatment Approach for ASD

A de

The Hope Source is dedicated to providing ethically sound, evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. We are proud to offer a variety of therapeutic services to our clients including, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling that work in conjunction to ensure continuity of care and better outcomes.

Our approach to ABA is like no other provider in Indiana. We use the principles of ABA to increase socially significant behaviors and support clients to help reduce behaviors that might impact their quality of life.

Our goals focus on social, emotional and cognitive areas of neurodevelopment, especially those under the Autism Spectrum Disorder criteria in the DSM-5 like nonverbal communication, social-emotional reciprocity, relationship development, flexible thinking and others.

Evidence-based practice requires 3 parts: the desire of the individual, evidence-based treatments and clinical judgement. As clinicians, our role is to ensure that we are doing is doing what we say that we are doing. Therefore, our methods and goal focus are measured and monitored regularly for effectiveness and their impact of the well-being of the client and their family.

Since we do not use compliance-based methods of training rote skills, the progress in goals is expected to be met at a slower pace. However, because we are targeting areas of neurodevelopment in a dynamic, meaningful manner, our outcomes are steady, generalized and lasting.
